    Electric seat

    Hey Guys

I have 2000 WS6. My driver power seat has stop working. The seat will not move and the lumbar is also not working. I have checked the fuse and it is fine. My rear defrost works which confirms the fuse is good . I have also checked the electrical connections under the seat. They were plugged in, so I unplugged them and then reconnected them. At this point I am at a loss of what to do or what too check.

Do you have a DVOM or test light? If so, I would probe the connections for power. That will help to isolate the problem.

If you are getting power to the seats, can you hear the motor(s) trying to work?

If the power is good, check the ground. Its the black wire coming off the seat switch. The ground location as described in the service manual is:
"Bolted to the left rocker panel at the floor pan bar"

I have checked the ground and it is fine. The motors are not running. I also checked the passenger seat and it's Lumber support is also not working. So most likely the seats are not getting power. I have checked the connections under the seat and they are connected. Does anyone know which wires run the power to the seat movement and Lumber control.

    Thanks Cutlass!

I found the orange and black connector that brought the main power into the seats. The connection itself appeared fine, but I unplugged it and and plugged it back in. I then noticed a little corrosion around the seat side of the orange wire. I decided to construct a jumper wire and when moving the connector around the seat side orange wire seperated from the connector, due to the corrosion and was not connected inside.

So I now have the jumper wire installed and the seats and lumber work fine.

Thanks again for all the help you guys provided.
