i removed the center console.. the gears seem to be fine,, is just the guy pulled it out to hard and the whole handle came off, and the little button on the end,, so theres no way to get it fixed, is it really hard to swap it out?
its a pain the ass to take the center console off

When the handle and button got ripped out, he took the mechanism that latches onto the gear with it?
I've never swapped the whole thing, so sadly I have no experience input on that. I would imagine that taking the center console apart would be the most difficult.

its kinda hard to explain exactly whats wrong with it,, but when the center console is off and u pull it up, to hold it up you have to put the locker manually,, i use a screw driver or something similar..
whe you pull the ebrake on ur car it stays up by it self,, to put it down thats when you push the botton on the end of the handle,
on mine u pull it up, and it goes back down again unless you put the locker on the gears manually..
damn i hope some 1 can understand what i just type,,lol..

Why isn't the tow guy getting it fixed 4 you?
I replaced one on a Toyota once and the gear and locking mechanism were septate so that was an easy fix, but sorry no experience on this. Is your handbrake after market?

I have the whole e-brake unit for sale. Let me know if you need it. But it does sound like just the spring to me.

You would'nt want the tow truck guys to fix it, they probally brake something else trying to fix the e-brake.
It sounds like a spring or something like that came lose or disconnected.
Best of luck.

I will think the worse part is to remove the center console. I removed mine recently and it takes some twisting and patience to get out. I will say to chekc the spring like others said or find you a another E brake assembly.

can you remove the center console? It might be hard to with the ebrake not staying up but you need to look at the internals of it.
