    dyno guessing game

ok next week my ta is going to the dyno so lets see who can guess the closest to what it will put down to the wheels. it is a dyno jet i think. here is a list of the mods on the car.
    slp; lid, under drive pulley.
    texas-speeds Torquer v.2 Camshaft with 232/234 .595/.598 112lsa
    PRC Springs and push rods
texas-speeds 1 7/8 long tube headers with ory and a magnaflow cat back.
ngk tr6 plugs and taylor 409 wires
ls6 oil pump and poly motor mounts and trans mount.
    the car is a 01 and a m6.
    good luck
also it will be a custom tune and i have a s3 p&p job on the tb

On a dynojet, I would think around 405/389

eavey dyno is different and temperature plays apart as well as elevation

well tracy scott is doing the tune for me and we should be on the dyno any day now. but he tels me that you can get more power out of the tr6's as you can put more timing in it. he was teling me that him and the owners of thunder racing and texas-speed is some testing and they all got the same thing, more power from timeing with the tr6's.

There is a point were adding timing does absolutley nothing for added power. Just because your not getting any KR, you can keep adding all the timing you want, doesnt always mean your going to make more power. All that number after the TR... is a heat range. Never heard that one before, but Im sure it may be possible.

I was told Tracy closed up his shop about a year ago over in Northern Kentucky. Are you telling me he is up and running again somewhere?

HiPo is right. You can throw a cold plug at it,,,and actually we have found the NGK's are about the hottest damn plug out there to be running,,,,but it really won't allow more timing to be thrown in. I like to run colder plugs myself but it's never allowed me to really get aggressive with the tune to the point I would get excited about.
It's really more of a result of combustion chamber design and camshaft profile among other things that will dictate the timing that the motor runs best with.

Good to hear he's still doing some work.

Ya I like to run cold plugs myself. I've never found a tuning advantage but with todays crappy pump gas I'll do any little trick to keep those combustion chambers cool.
I'm sure he'll get it dialed in for ya.

Evidently it wasn't as good as he was hoping, he never reported back. Guess those magic plugs didn't do the trick

Lol, i would be impressed if he it 400 r.w.h. Like i was saying i am running that set up on mine (or close) exept I have a 3"y to a 4" exhaust and I tuned mine myself with efi live tunes. Pulls really hard ,but i doubt it hit's 400r.w.h.p.
