    Door repair

Would anyone know of a good bonding agent for repair of a camaro outer door skin? What happened is that a break-in was attempted and separated the outer door shell from the structure of the door. Looks like fiberglass. Yes, I said attempted. Someone tried to steal my car. Tried to get in from both doors, could not get in and gave up. So I am very lucky. I have done similar work as this requires, but I am trying to come up with the appropriate materials here.

I would think JB Weld or some similar product work just fine. Its cheap and available most anywhere. You will probably need to clamp the pieces together until dry which may be difficult with the temps being what they are around here. Good Luck!!!

How bad is it? If its going to need paint I would try to pick up a door at salvage.

Otherwise, I would use fiberglass. If I remember correctly the door is not ACTUALLY fiberglass it is some other material which is pretty much fiberglass but not technically

it's not that bad - only the aft side of the door and about halfway down. Yeah, I figured I would need to clamp it while it sets up. I live in TN, so we have periods of warm weather scattered throughout the winter mos (mid 60's is not uncommon). I think I'll try JB weld. If it doesn't hold after a while I'll try something from a corvette supplier. Stuff is expensive, though.

Go to an auto body supplies store. They should have an epoxy that will work.
