Dont know what this could be

When I painted my calipers awhile back, I noticed my rear bump stops are crumbling. I am getting new wheels and tires after the first of the year so I was going to replace them then. Thats one thing.

Second, about 3 years ago, every time I would get on it a little bit I would hear a clunk. Went to the exhaust shop and they put another piece to tighten it up and it helped.

Recently, I have noticed the same noise but in a different location. It has happened 3 times when starting my car cold in the mornings (sounds like something is settling into place). Also, the noise happens when I am cruising and let off the gas (about a second later the noise happens again). This does not happen every day or everytime. I have not gotten on it and heard this noise Only during the times I stated above What could this be?
Suspension: Lower control arms (Spohn), Drive shaft safety loop, Torque arm (Edlebrock), Strut tower brace, Panhard Bar (BMR)

Under the Hood: Smooth bellows, Lid, Catch can, LT Headers, ORY, AIR/EGR delete, Poly engine/transmission mounts,

Exterior: Painted brake calipers (Red), Halo “Spyder” Headlights w/matching parking/turn signals (Black)

Bump stops can be replaced. I'll send a PM with a direct link.

Hard to say about the 2nd thing, it could be anything from suspension to U joints on the drive shaft.

Are you able to get the car up in the air?

If so start with the exhaust following it and see if anything is loose.

Next the torque arm. Check the bolt that connects it to the tail cone. If loose it can make those sounds.

Next check the drive shaft, look at the U joints for excess play.

Other then that I can't think of anything else that could help with out being next to the car.

Im going to take a guess and say it is the over the axle pipe. I have had to fix so many of theses at the shop. With the travel of the suspension of the car it allows the car and exhaust to move with the rear end still, as you get of it, hit bump or what ever it make a noise/clunk. Which usually sounds loud because of the location and the lack of insulation in the car..

Could it be the bump stops being so shitty? There is barely any left. So, could it be that something is hitting there and causing the sound? If that, then why would I hear it SOMETIMES when i start it from cold? Sucks to buy stuff out here cause you have to order everything and shipping to hawaii isnt nice. no matter what it is

Yes it could be the cause.

When you say you hear it on start up, does it come from the same location or different?

And just how cold does Hawaii gets?

When ours did that it was the tranny mount. Changing it made a world of difference.

I've been told by others hear that the tranny mount is the one mount not to go poly on. Poly transfers more vibrations then the stock mount.

Did you notice this or the opposite?

If it were the poly trans mount, why would it happen a year after installing?
