    Dome light door switch

Okay, probably a dumb question but the interior lights do not come on in my conv when you open the door or turn them on with the light switch. I am going to track through the system today but was wondering when you open the door what triggers the light to come on? There is no visible switch.

Yeah there actually is a switch where the door attaches to the pillar between the top and bottom door hinges.

It's surounded by a corrogated rubber ring about 1 inch tall.

When the door comes closed it pushes the switch in the center of the ring to turn off the lights,

when the door is open the switch pops out to the on position.

Could be a faulty switch, whether in the door or the roller switch (or cluster dimer) in the dash..

Well I looked and there is not a plunger switch on the door or on the pillar. All that is there is the rubber piece that schields the wires into the door. I have a older pontiac (65) that has the plunger so I know what you mean but this does not have one. Any ideas?

If you can take a pic of the pillar between where the door hinges mount.

Something does'nt sound right, there should be a switch there.
