doesnt want to idle
hey guys im new hear and need some help. i recently installed TSP 5.3l heads with a MS3 and got there tune for it. it runs great for a while but when i make some hard pulls in it and start to slow back down for a light it wants to die the rpms drop to 500 and then go back to 1500 and it will keep doing this until i take off again. and i get a P0106 code. i switched out the MAF back to stock. i drilled the throttle body blade. i cant figure this thing out i need help fast i gotta go back to work

the blade on the throttle body i drilled a little bit bigger hole to let more air in and i tried spraying the vacum lines with starting fluid to find the leak but i couldnt find one

it still runs the same as it did before i did it it only does it after some hard pulls and then i gotta slow down

i dunno... maybe your alternator is taking a shit... what kind of head gaskets did you use??? and what kind for the intake manifold???

i think the head gaskets are graphite and the intake manifold are the stock ones jus reused them

The code is for a vacuum leak. I say after the romps it might have sprung an air leak somewhere. The TB needs to be replaced IMO after drilling it. I have had this issue and it was caused by a weak battery that wouldnt hold a charge. Check for a vacuum leak, maybe it could be something as small as the PCV or the brake booster...The TB needs to be replaced next.

thanks for the help any suggestions on how to check for a vacuum leak i tried spraying starting fluid around the intake manifold i have everything capped off.

I'll add my 2 cents. p106 is a map sensor code. Now whether it's being thrown due to a bad map sensor or because of the severe surging I don't know. Go to gearchatter.com and look at the dtc description for 106.
What tune exactly do you have in there? I would probably bet that it's a tune issue. That's a fairly large cam so the tune would be very important.

the tune is whatever texas speed made it from there mail order tuning it only does this after i make hard pulls then slow down to a stop
