optimas don't like to sit for more than a week or so without having the car started and optimas don't take too well to winter.

Parasitic draw somewhere.. get a battery tender if you keep all the electronics

You can do a simple draw check:

With the ignition key "off", disconnect the positive cable from your battery and either hook up a test light or cobble up an automotive light bulb (12 volt) with two wires. One lead goes to your positive battery cable and the other to the postive battery "post". The brighter the light, the greater the draw on your electrical system. Obviously, certain systems draw power even with the car off, however, it should be relatively small, ie. the light should be dimly lit.

With the test light installed, you can then disconnect fuses to determine the main source of your draw. Pull them one at a time and see if the intensity of the light decreases. Obviously, start with the stereo and alarm equipment to see if there is a problem there. For example, if the switched lead to your amp has power all the time, your amp could be drawing power even with the system off.

If your draw is too great, it will burn out the light bulb -- a test light should be fine though. If everything seems to check out, then look at your battery and charging system as the possible culprits.

Some people have had either the ashtray light or the glovebox light stay on. Wouldn't hurt to check those too.
