Cold air induction
I have a stock 2000 Z28 and was wondering what I should do for cold air induction? What is the best kit? Is cold air really worth the $?

I think I am going to try the cut out mod first. I was reading about it on installuniversity.com and looks like it might be successful?? Thanks for the welcome

83 Z28 new project- 98 Formula WS7-sold:(
The lid and smooth bellows are a great mod. They help the air flow better. Another thing to consider is fast toys ram air or a super sucker kit if you have the money to spend.
TSP Torquer V2 cam, ported heads, fast 90/90 combo, LT's, 3400 stall, magnaflow CB, most other bolt ons, full suspension, t-top and HID conversion

yes, the free ram air mod is worth it. You will know it works when you see your airfilter is filthy in a few months.
Then just get a lid. New about $90 or find a used one in the for sale section. I have SLP - but no brand will make any power over any other one. A lid is a lid.
Also installuniversity has some other great free mods. Check out bump stop mod - opens thottle more. And throttle body port and polish - smoothes out airflow.

I installed the Fast Toys Ram Air kit. It took a couple of hours to make the necessary cuts to the plastif frame piece, but look at the difference. All that opened space for more air to enter. Then with the new lid I added, the $$$ was well worth the price.

Like said above a new lid, clean filter, cut out mod is deff worth the effort, and a fast toys ram air is a good way too go. Smooth bellow looks good but really doesnt do a whole lot for performance in my opin.

18D Cock Diesel- 1999 Z28; 98 SS #2043 RIP
Bellows dont do shit for power. I would keep the stock setup. The only benefit to the bellows is that it cleans the engine bay up a little more. But that's it.
