Clicking noise
Lately I have heard this clicking noise coming from inside the engine bay. It seems to be directly related to RPMS (more RPMS, faster clicking). I cannot find what is clicking and it is driving me insane. to make it worse it doesn't click all the time and I am not finding a pattern. it almost sounds like its coming from the driver side between the heads and the master cylinder. Any ideas? The car runs perfectly

Lifter? Header leak?
That's about all I can think of.
Any SES codes?

I haven't pulled any codes at all, if it was a lifter how hard would that be to replace?

I would check simple stuff first before going and changing a lifter. I think it's on ls1howto.com though.
You can also get a mechanics stethoscope to help pinpoint where it is coming from.
Loose rockers, bent pushrod, exhaust leak, etc.

Could also be a worn timing chain making the noise. Sometimes they can stretch and make contact with the timing cover.
