cleaning my k&n filter for the first time

how long should I let the filter dry b4 spraying the oil ? any tips/tricks....do and donts ????

I'd let it dry completely, then LIGHTLY oil. I put my paper filter in for a couple days.

Like 20001NBMZ28 said, don't over oil and let it dry completely both after the cleaning and after the oiling. I personally thing it's a messy PITA and not worth it at all...I use a paper filter but i hear the synthetic filters flow just as good as a oil filter but only have to be vacuumed for cleaning
