Check Engine Light Please Help!!!

Hey Guys,

I was trying to use the link in the sticky but it didnt seem to work for me. I dont want to post in the wrong place but my check engine light has been on since I got the new exhaust. There are no Cats but I just want to make sure that these codes not something serious and hopefully a mail order tune can fix this light!

PO1404
PO1416
PO1154

This is just what the guy gave me and he couldnt find the codes in his books any help would be great!

P1404 EGR Valve Closed Pintle Position/EGR Valve Stuck Open Or Circuit Performance
P1416 AIR System Bank 2
P1154 HO2S Transition Time Ratio Bank 2 Sensor 1

those will get cleared up with a tune...not sure about the last 1 tho

Thanks alot, do you know anything about these codes and if any of them are a need for alarm or are they just codes that come with a new exhaust, I know i didnt mention but im running 3in magnaflow stainless from the manifold back with an electric cut off- custom ory with no cats

get a tune...do you have stock 02s in ? if so switch to 1311s ...i need to get some 1311s as i am tired of the 02 SESs

Yea my O2s are stock, the muffler shop simply place the sensors back in the new exhaust and removed my cats.

No =( I couldnt afford it.. the exhaust alone cost me about 800 bucks and I had to buy wheels and tires too plus other random maintenance, it just wasnt in the budget i need to buy me some pace setters and install em myself i guess =(

your fine...i was just curious on what your new exhaust detailed. I would get a tune and those codes will be tuned out. You dont need the 1311s if you are running stock manifolds

oh okay, thanks for the tips man lol I am hoping to get long tube headers one day but first things first is the tune.. if I could sell my damn winter trans am I would probably get headers tomorrow lol

understandable...headers are great. in time you will get them and be happy.

dad just asked to buy my car for 1500 bucks i was asking for 2000 but i might just let it go and get headers but who knows =(

What are 1311's are they different for stock O2 sensors

1311s are vette 02 sensors ..they are longer so they eliminate the need for extensions after headers.

there is still some debate over if they are any different in the 02 sensor than f-bodys ...but they seem to handle reading further down stream better than f-bodys
