    Unhappy Car is Shutting Off

When I turn the car off and go to turn it on 3 out of 5 times it wont crank. No clicking noises or nothing. The car is getting NO power. If i fiddle with the battery wires (remove them and re-attach them) it may start back up. Somtimes I just need to jiggle the wires and I can start it. A couple times it has shut off while driving down the road, had to come to a stop (no power steering), jump out, and jack with the wires untill i could turn it on again. I have tried tightening the hell out of them but that just made it harder to take them off next time that it wouldn't start.

    Any Suggestions?

P.S. I have had the battery tested and it is fine.

I Had The Same Problem In My 98 Z This Past Summer. I Had To Get It Fixed, I'll Be Damned If I Would Had Get Out At Night And Open The Hood In The Second Most Dangerous City In America (just Found That Out). But Anyway I Took It To A Mechanic And He Charged Me $10 To Cut Off The End Of My Groun Wire And Put On A New Connector And Put It Back On The Battery. After So Long, Those Wires Get Corroted On The Inside But Near The End. So It Is A Headache But Nothing Major. SSPD DEMON, I NEED TO MOVE TO FH, ATLEAST IT WAS #60 COMPARED TO DETROIT'S #370

I had the exact same problem. I couldn't see it corroding on the outside, but when I pulled it out it was bad on the inside.

    Security.

Either your key or your tubbler is going bad.
Mine took about a year to finally not start. Had to take the key to the dealer and have them tell me what ohm resistor is in it. I then got that size resistor and put it inline with the tubbler wires under the dash.

VATS/security light won't make the car shut off going down the road, right?
