    Can I install a 93-97 v6 Fuel tank in a 98 T/A

    Hi,
It's time to replace the old rusted fuel tank of my 98 T/A. Due to the rust, there are small gas leaks under the fuel tank...
I've read that the 98 fuel tank is made of steel, like the 93-97 ones...
I plan to buy an used one. But here in France, the 93-97 T/A are very hard to find. There are lots of v6 Firebird.
My question is, can I install a fuel tank of a 93-97 v6 Firebird in my 98 T/A. Can you tell me if a 93-97 v6 fuel tank is the same than mine...
    Thanks a lot.

The tanks have different part numbers but all fuel tanks are the same for each model of Firebird. Meaning the V6's have the same tank as the V8's for both >97 and 98. So if you can find a 98 V6 you can use it.

99's and up also have a different part number as well. So if you get one of them you'll need to change the pump and sending unit as well. IIRC it really is the sending unit that needs to be changed, I believe the actual pumps are the same but I would check further into that to make sure.

The >97's will fit and all but the issue will be the fuel pump and sending unit. I believe they are very different in mounting because the LT1 fuel pump vs the LS1 fuel pump are different.
