Camaro Z28 using conventional oil? What will happen?

MY friend is finally going to go pick up his LS1 Camaro tomorrow. Only problem is that the car while at the dealer had an oil change and they used conventional oil and not synthetic. We plan on changing the oil as soon as possible. But could we drive it four hours safely on conventional oil? Or should we just take it to the nearest jiffy lube and have it changed over before we make the drive???? Thanks in advance.

    No kidding.

Waste of money....Mobil is decent oil, just overpriced. Not the best for the LSx either.

The cheapest stuff I could find for the first 500 miles.
Then I went to Havoline dino until 1500 miles.

Currently running on VP racing oils, but since they changed their line, going to Pennzoil Platinum once the VP is gone.

Pretty decent price. Never found it for that around here.

Pennzoil Platinum is $19.99 for 5 quarts.
    Mobil 1 is $23.99 for 5 quarts.
    Same place.
And neither oil is 'full' synthetic in Europe. Both are here though. Different regs.

I just switched from mobil 1 to penzoil platinum. I like it so far. Check your sundays paper's pepboys ad. Every other week they have a $15 mail in rebate when you buy 6 quarts.
