    Brake squeak

I notice yesterday while backing in next too my buddies that my brakes squeaked very bad while in reverse. It doesn't do it when i am moving forward. Only in reverse. Any ideas on what it is?

Maybe you need new brake pads.

if u dont mind me joinin this thread with ya... i have a similar problem. my breaks sqeak when i ride them lightly, but when i push harder they stop. also, sometimes when im just cruising, at speeds 20-40ish i hear the same exact squeaking, without even hitting the breaks. if i jerk the steering wheel one way it will stop the squeaking for a few min tho... its real wierd. also i have pretty new front brakes (previous owner replaced them)

For both of you.... I would pull the pads and see if anything looks out of the ordinary and then put some brake lube on the backs of the pads and see what that does.

pulled my brakes appart. my slides must have froze up. the inside pads where toasted, and outsides look alright. Im replacing all 4 corners beucase the front have semi-metalic anyways i believe.

ATcharming- sounds like your wear indicators are hitting. You need new pads now!

FUCK!!! i was told these brakes were just replaced. (the front brakes... and those are the ones that are squeaking. maybe they just werent put on right? idk)

also, if this helps, they seem to pulse while slowing down. they stop real good, theyre good brakes, they just squeak and pulse slightly. if i slow down real fast, i can see my passenger going forward and backwards with the pulsing...

    hope u all understand

Look at your front pads and see if the wear indicators are hitting. You may also have alittle rotor warp. Might be in the back because the steering wheel move move if it were the front. Need to pull the wheels and look at stuff.
