    Question Brake Rotors

I'm replacing my pads on my '99 WS6 with 27k miles. Brakes aren't what they used to be so figured the stock pads are too old by now. Thinking of getting the hawk hps pads. While I'm at it was also thinking of replacing the rotors with R1 concepts. Will I see any gains from replacing the 20 year old rotors with 27k miles? I don't think they're warped or at least not bad. Just want my car to stop quicker and be safer.

Pads are the main thing that will factor in your stopping power. Hawks pads are a good step in that direction.

Going to jack car up and inspect the rotors. Don't want to start replacing the pads and then find something wrong with the rotors.

If the rotors are grooved or if you have a discernible thickness difference between the outer circumference and the surface the pads ride against I would replace them. Swapping over to R1 Concepts rotors, Hawk HPS pads, and stainless brake hoses made a world of difference in how our car stops.

Well I went ahead and ordered the R1 slotted and cross drilled rotors. Wow, they look awesome! Have to wait until next week to install them along with the Hawk pads, can't wait! Is there a big difference with the stainless brake hoses? Could I install those anytime after the rotors/pads?

It was all done at the same time in our car, so I cannot comment on the difference in the setup with and without the new lines. Only caveat is that installation of the lines requires that the brakes all be bled.

I did mine with me C5 Front caliber upgrade. Honestly I see some difference but not enough to say yeah, it has greatly improved them. I can't complain too much, they were free so....

    02 T/A WS6 CONVERTIBLE

I see this is an older thread but I'm buying an 02 T/A with the original brakes. The car has 39K on it and I see grooves in the front rotor so sure to need replacement.
Can you guys elaborate on these rotors and pads your speaking of as to cost and preferred place to buy them?

You can see in my signature I had a Pewter one about 12-13 years ago and now getting a White one!

    Thanks Ron

Rotors and HPS pads are not cheap but worth it. Check out some of the vendors on this site for prices.

R1 slotted and cross drilled rotors are still a great rotor. Pads you have a lot of options. Hawks, EBC etc. All depend on what type of driving you plan to do.
