    Brake Pads

I change my break pads 6 months ago and I pretty much hate the ones on the rear I got. Because I'm still on OEM calibers I just went to O Reilly's and got a ceramic pad replacements. Since then I have to constantly clean the break dust off the rear wheels more so then the front. Not sure why either, car breaks fine with no issues.

I gotten to the point that even though they still have lots of life left on them I just want another set of pads.

I've seen Hawks and EBC....any other suggestions and how you rate them?

I got my ceramics off ebay from brakemotive. They still look brand new and I have very little brake dust for the rears that is. I want to say the brand name was hawks just sold by brakemotive.

I also bought the brakemotive drilled and slotted rotors and pads for my TA. I paid about $160 and they were shipped to my house in about 3 days. I've only had them on for a few months but they look great and were an excellent price.

Thermo-Quiet pads and iirc, brakemotive rotors all around here. I'm good.

R1 concepts are the rotors I'll be getting. As far as brake pads, I'll be using the Hawk's. I currently run the Duralast Gold ceramic pads and don't really have any issues with them. Normal amount of brake dust.

They're great rotors from all I've heard and seen. Few friends running them with no issues.

I think it was Orion that had posted something on them last yr and he said how he like that the slotted rotors from them didn't seem to want to warp unlike other brands.

I switched over to R1 Concepts rotors and Hawk HPS pads a few months ago. Huge improvement over stock.

I am changing my pads and rotors in th spring. I will be using iRotors XDS Rotors and Hawk pads, has anyone used iRotors products before. Also, are the front and rear calipers on my 02 SS the same as on the 02 Vette including the Z06 ?

I also have R1 concepts rotor drill/slotted rotors. Not a single issue.

How long have you been running those? Have you checked them recently? Any small cracks or abnormalities near or around the drilled holes?

I'm just asking because those are the exact ones I'm considering.

I know at least 5-6 cars that run R1 slotted/drilled rotors with no issues. I've had them on the bird for 6-7 years or so and they still look new.....the zinc coating on the hats really holds up. My bird is probably not the best example since I don't put a ton of miles on it and it's not a DD but there' s been quite a few track passes made so that should even it out some. I had them on my GTO for 40k miles with no issues and it was a DD. I'm still kicking myself for putting oem replacements on the front of my truck last year. Terrible decision and I wasn't even in a hurry....just decided to go with blanks. Still bothers me because they're a good rotor and cheaper than the blanks I put on. I'll end up replacing the fronts again with R1 when my rears need changed.
For pads I only run wagner or bendix on my vehicles.....both are excellent pads and cost less than hawks or ebc.

I went with slots only. We street drive our car and have lots of hills, so they do build some heat. I have seen way to many drilled rotors cracking around the perimeter of the holes.
