Brake Fluid....Dealership didn't touch
When I bought my 01 Trans Am 5 months ago, the private seller I bought the car from agreed to fix some of the stuff on the car after I bought it.
The dealership changed most of the fluids and replaced the battery and some other little things....
One of the things they said they did was FLUSH OUT THE BRAKE FLUID....
So, as I was doing my brakes last week, I noticed all the extra fluid out of the master cylinder, before and after I compressed the piston back into the caliper, was dark dark black. Also, the bleeder valves on the calipers didn't even look liked a mechanic touched it..... I have the bill and they charged $125 to the previous owner to complete the brake fluid flush.... I topped of the master cylinder with some new fluid and kept the dark old fluid as evidence.
Is this normal? If not, how can I prove that the system was not flushed at all or properly flushed by the dealership?

I would say about the only hope you have is to take in your old fluid along with the receipt and show it to the service manager. Hopefully he's a stand up guy but there's really no way to prove that they didn't do them.

So I called and talked to the Service Manager and he just gave me the run around. something about sludge build up.... haha....
I might just do it myself ..sigh...
Maybe I'll file a complaint with the BBB.

Why didn't you just bleed the system until clear while you were doing the brakes?

always dirty- 2013 Ram 2014 Caddy ATS
Maybe the guy you bought the car from has a buddy at the dealership. He might have had him make up a fake bill saying all kinds of things were done when they weren't.

Highly doubt that. Since I picked the dealership next to my house. Bought the car in Washington State. I live in California.
