I get just about every thing on E-Bay ! Here's one ( long block ) which every thing should bolt right up from your old motor.

I wouldn't spend 7k on a LS2...there's other options out there that'll give you a lot more hp/tq.

I have an LQ9 block stroked to 402.
383 LS1's have issues with the wrist pins hitting the pistons. Avoid the 383 LSx.

well....the LS2 is is 400 hp....the LS6 is 400 hp
the LS6 is an LS1 with a few different parts
i would say get the few parts you need to make your LS1 an LS6....
intake, cam, pistons...
i could be wrong so others can back me up if im right

It really depends on future plans.
The LS2 gives more room to grow since it is a 6.0L motor.
If you are looking for HP...get a build motor. Probably get a forged 402/408 longblock for $7K if you look and get the cheaper parts (which are still better than stock).

about getting the extra parts, i have 110k miles on it i looked at the 408 blocks, im on a budget and time cause i dont know when my current engine is gonna go the piston rings are going bad im not looking for insane numbers but i eventually want a high 10-11sec car and can drive it everyday. I live in mn. any where between 400-550 rwhp would be fine! i want to have this all done by the end of july i want the engine in by july not that much hp i know thats gonna take a lil while

408cid LS1/LQ9 Iron Stroker Long Block
Mahle-12cc pistons
Total seal plasma moly/naiper 2nd ring set
Eagle LS1 H-beam with ARP 8740 rod bolts
Eagle forged ls1 crankshaft
PRC L92 71cc with rocker arm and pedestals
GM L76 Manifold assy. with rail, injectors & TB
This is at texasspeed all this for $7070
what else would i need for this to work?
plus im already 1000 over what i wanted to spend and i want to keep the same transmission
i still need to get a rear end i still have the weak ass 10 bolt
