Best OBD II Scanner?
Any recommendations on a OBD II Scanner. I have 42 K Miles on my Firehawk and the SES just came on. I'm going to buy a code scanner. Cheapy's cost around $30-$60. Better one's around $130-$200. Any reason why I should buy more expensive units. I have a code list in my Haynes Repair Manual.

If all you want is to read/delete codes get a cheapie - harborfreight sells one for about $40 last time I checked. Or you can have someone like Autozone read it for free. No reason to spend more unless it'll read "real time data" too.

Snap On MT2500... That's what I've got, of cousre it's professional grade. Alot more then what you're willing to spend I reckon. Nothing beats Autozone's free scans..

Didn't know Autozone did it for free. I'll try that first.
Thanks.

Went to Autozone and had to put a credit card deposit of ~$185 to borrow their scanner. Got a code P0113 indicating high input on IAT sensor. Lifted the hood and realized I forgot to reconnect the lead to the IAT sensor over the weekend when I was taking a look at what it would take to perform the MAF coolant bypass modification. Erased the error code with the Scanner, reconnected the IAT sensor and problem solved.
I'll probably end up buying one of the $50-$70 scanners on Ebay just so I can save having to go to Autozone next time.
Thanks all for the help.

If you want the best order LS1 edit. It cost about the same as a scanner but you get so much more!!!
