bent fuel line
Spent some time today installing fuel rail covers, pita. I cut the tape holding the two fuel lines together that run to the rails on the driver side. I was getting mad and started bending them all up and think I put a nasty kink in one of the lines.
My question is are the lines that thin metal tubing with a rubber outside? I can feel with my fingers like the tube inside the rubber is bent pretty bad, afraid it's going to snap or something. Is there any kind of cheap fix for this?

Which of the two lines do you think you bent?

Ops, thought i mentioned it, The longer line that goes farther back towards the fire wall. It has a swivel connection, and when I was swiveling it it felt like the line collapsed inside the rubber surround.
Is there some kinda universal braided line I can use instead for these two lines? It would make the FRC's fit a whole lot better, and give me better piece of mind.

This is what i'm talking about, is there a way to use the same end connections but use longer lines in-between?

I figured that was the issue.
As far as I know...it is mostly rubber. I will have to get mine out and check it. Mine isn't on the car anymore.

Talked to chevy today, it's a hard plastic line inside of the rubber surround. He said you can kink them and they won't go back to the original shape, which is what happened to me.
Went later to a local parts store that said to bring the lines in and they will build something a little longer with the stock fittings, I think i'll go that route.

^^^ From the looks of it they'll only work with the Fast fuel rails that have a different input fitting. I'm going to drop off my lines at the shop tomorrow and see what's up.
I only need like 1.5" and maybe 3" extensions on the stock lines to make them fit with fuel rail covers. Hopefully this shop can use braided looms like the ones above for a custom look. I'll post an update later.

I'm pretty sure theres an adapter to use braided stainless with AN fittings with the stock fuel rails.

sall good, local shop fab'd a longer braided line with the quick connect fittings, about $65. Beat chevy's price, they wanted $110. The new line clears the FRC's and doesn't tug at them, everything fits real snug now.

Damn...too bad I missed this.
I would have shipped out the piece in the picture for much less. It is just sitting in my garage.
