Before After Pics !!! Simple green vs 190k km LS1!
Want to thank everyone who has shared input since I joined up ! Again this is a 01 z28 I just picked up. When i first went to see the car and popped the hood I almost threw up. I had no idea I could clean her up this well.
First day at home !
Simple green 1:1 with water, 2 household brushes, dishwashing pad and a garden hose !!!!
After a few hours
Here's what the hood looked like with one half cleaned.
Don't mind the plate. its from the wifes yaris I stole em to drive it home !!
SO... I have all 4 new rotors and pads and the rotors are drying still. Tomorrow I'll have up before/after pics of new rotors/pads and cleaned up calipers !!
I'll be posting alot these coming days/weeks. I need to still do the 8934787 steps of zaino, clean the interior, wait for my new 18" wheels to arrive and slap on the tires but not before my sportline springs arrive and I get them installed !

Oh shit what a difference. The rust where the bolts are for the front shocks looks like you might want to marine grease the hell out of the shocks bushings-if you feel so bold.

Wow, I can’t believe the change! Good job man! I take it there was no problem with the electric system when trying to restart afterwards?

Thanks guys ! I was thinking to clr the bolts and threads for the front struts and replace the nuts with some stainless ones. WIth regards to starting, she fired and purred from the first turn ! Here's what I did:
Simple green 1:1
brush
hosed down with garden hose with no nozzle tap open low
simple green again
dishwashing sponge
hosed down again
leaf blower
then I fired her up ! Like someone else mentioned my belt started to squeak. I need to get a little belt dressing and let it sit overnight on the belt.
Look for my next post later today I'm just getting started on the brakes/rotors

Why not just replace the belts???
No telling how long they've been in there, they're cheap & take less than 10 minutes to do.

Be sure to rinse really well, simple green and aluminum do not mix.
