battery voltage
whenever i start the camaro in the mornings.... the gauge always shows more than 13 volts...and after 10 minutes or so of driving..it stablizes right on 13..shouldnt it always be 12.6?... whats wrong????

I've been through 3 batteries and an alternator since new. My experience using a meter on the terminals has been about 12.7 before starting, about 14.5 right after startup, then slowly falls after the alternator recharges it. My cluster gauge never hits or falls below 13 when warmed up.

13.6 is what mine usually stays at... its what my truck stays at... its what my dads truck stays at..
12 volt systems typically run at 13.6.. so they taught me in tech school... After a while of driving your battery is charged and the volts go down a bit.

The cells on a 12v auto battery actually put out 2.2 volts each. 6 cells times 2.2 v equal 13.2 volts.
So......your 12v auto battery is actually a 13.2v battery.
