battery drain.... frustration....
ongoing now for quite some time...
replaced ignition switch as when I wiggled keys lights came on and off on interior of car.
interior lights would not shut off when i shut the door until i pushed lock on fob, then went out
My mechanic also replaced my BCM at no charge as at one point I had no interior lights, replaced BCM then have interior lights...
I have a modified Monsoon stereo that has had an MP3 aux input on it, Cassette. possible problem??
also, at times after shutting car off, then opening the door so antenna goes down, I remain in car and can hear a clicking noise over the speakers...like static.... just click, click, click click... definitely coming thru the speakers, If I turn the key on and off again it quits... like the antenna is still possibly drawing power? Its not trying to raise or lower, but cant figure out where else this sound comes from....
after the ignition/BCM replacement I had a full week without draining, yesterday I noticed slightly bad starting power, today dead...
anybody???Last edited by randymoe; 07-29-2017 at 08:28 AM.

Why don't you disconnect the stereo and see if the problem goes away.

Are you running an amp? I'm not sure on the fuse. I'm more familiar with aftermarket equipment than OEM.

Try pulling the antenna, and follow the wires, maybe you have a freyed wire contacting metal.

You need to perform a draw test. Disconnect your negative battery cable and connect a test light between the cable and the terminal. The light will glow -- the brighter the glow the greater the draw on the battery. All vehicles will have some draw, but it should not be excessive. While you watch the test light, start pulling fuses one-by-one in both the underhood and dash electrical boxes. When you see a significant drop in brightness you have your first likely culprit, meaning something in the circuit that draws power through the fuse you just pulled.
