    Bad vibration at high speed?

Since I got my Formula it has had a vibration at high speed. Once you get up past 85-90mph the whole car starts to shake. I got the wheels balanced and still had the same thing. Thought it might be a bad axle or carrier bearing. Rebuilt the whole rear down to new differential and axle shafts. Same thing. Thought I had a couple of bent rims. Changed the wheels and tires. Same thing. Any thoughts. Shocks, wheel bearing, tranny or motor mounts? It's weird because the car is solid as a rock until you get over 85 or so. It also feels like the engine might be breaking up and causing it sometimes. Maybe a bad harmonic balancer or something? It has new plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter, etc. Any thoughs would be appreciated. Thanks.

Have you had it checked on Roadforce Balance Equipment?

No that was going to be my next step. The local Dodge dealer has one. They were the only place that could balance a set of wheels I had on a Mustang a few years ago.

Have you considered a bad tire???
Had a ply separation that wasn't visible once.....wouldn't give a shake untill at a certain speed

Could try a different set of tires to eliminate the possibility

as I said in my original post the car has a brand new set of wheels and tires. It had the same vibration with both the new and old tires and wheels.

    DRIVESHAFT.........

You need to check it with a dial indiacator if possiable. Or as cheap as it is I would take it out real quick by only jacking up the rear so you don't loose any fluid and run it over to have it balanced. I get them dome for $30 out here.

+1 on drive shaft. Also check whether is is speed, rpm or gear specific.

I have an aluminum driveshaft. The carrier is a new Auburn. I recently replaced an old Auburn and it had the same vibration with both, but there are tons of Auburn cars that don't have this problem.

I'll go with axle bearings. I had a bad vibration and when I went with a rearend rebuild/upgrade to 3:73s the vib went away. All I ever saw wrong was bearing races that were out of round.

All new bearings in the rear. Axle, carrier, pinion, etc. New axle shafts as well.
