Bad To Remove Egr?
Hi all. My 98 m6 camaro has had all egr stuff yanked. It obviously is throwing an SES light. My question is will it mess anything up?

Is it common to take the EGR off these cars? I see it a lot.

Be careful, if the ERG is not attached or functioning it can effect your emissions. Here in Colorado they dont take that lightly...

I guess my biggest question is... would it be alright to wait a few weeks after removing the EGR before I tune it? That's my biggest concern because i currently drive my car everyday for the next few weeks. I'm only wondering because I have race headers with no AIR and EGR fittings with an ORY. I want to put them on but I can't have it tuned right away...

My egr was stuck open and it was causing my converter to randomly unlock so i deleted it and air and it runs great. You have to have the SES light tuned out and have the EGR tables deleted because it adds/removes timing for the EGR...
screw the damn emissions systems if you dont have to have them!!

SLP does, SLP does, nana nana na na!!!
Correct sir!! And yes I knew that.
BTW, if you keep the EGR, do the modification. Cut off that 1 1/2 inch or so section that you can see behind the TB. That is definitely an air restriction/disturbance and by removing it you increase the air flow quality at no cost whatsoever. Just be careful and do it correctly. There is a sticky somewhere for the mod...I think.
