    Backup Light Fuse

I have a problem. As you know the auto head lights, turn signals and backup lights are all on the same fuse. Everything is fine until I shift to reverse. Shifting to reverse, turning on the backup lights blows the fuse. Does that mean that I have a bad backup light switch that is blowing the fuse? If so, how difficult is it to change?

Either that, or you may have a short in the backup light wires somewhere, or the bulbs could be totally screwed?? Might be worth checkin around in your tailights in case it's something easy that is just grounding out the circuit... but it could also be the switch I guess.... Never changed one so I can't help ya there.

Thanks for the response. The problem was what I thought it was. It was the reverse light backup switch on the transmission. The backup light switch is an item that does not give a problem often. But when it does, you may think that you have a bad bulb or a short in the wiring. You may need testing with the proper equipment to find out if it is a bulb, wiring or the switch.
