    backfiring and missing

    My car started this today on my way home from work. Drove there this morning fine and when i got in it to come home i noticed it idled funny when i started it. then when i got on the road it started shuttering pretty bad from a miss and backfiring through the exhaust. any ideas coil pack? ignition
    module what do you think?

    Check the codes. The connector is right at your right knee. Could be an o2, could be mass arflow sensor, etc. You can usually get them checked for free at auto parts stores. Or buy one. It works on all OBDII cars.

    Clean your maf, that usually clears alot of it up, see if you have any loose boots on the plugs or coils, if it is misfiring really bad your ECU should pick up a misfire code. Check the codes and see what you pull.

    I agree. Start off with cleaning the MAF. Let us know if the problems persist. Also...if your MAF is dirty, you might not get any codes.

    Was the check engine light blinking? Blinking SES indicates multiple misfires.

    how do you fix this problem? i just installed LTs, ypipe and magnaflow exhaust and i took the car out for a drive and got on it and this happened?!!?

    I would start by checking for a vacuum leak on the exhaust.

    luckily mine was a simple fix. New plugs and wires and shes runnin fine
