Anyone tried this on their cars? looks really cool and the schematics look correct.

I have done it. I used the same directions. It took about an hour. Hardest part was soldering the wires from the switch. The directions say to use a hard drive wiring harness, I would say the same if you can. The schematic for tapping into the power are correct. I've had it for about 6 months with no problems other than having to figure out a way to keep the switch from slowly pushing out. The trick I used was a heavy elastic (like the ones they wrap Sunday newspapers in) around the switch right behind the the plate you mount it in. No more movement...

and i am assuming that you still have to put the key in the ignition and turn it then you can press the switch?

the key has to be in the ignition and in the "on" position for the button to engage correct? (just double checking before i go ahead and do it)

Ok 99PontTA... which of those 5 looks the best to you. Anybody have an idea of how hard the ignition wires are to get to/identify.

any of them you can install so the key will still start...just don't cut the yellow wire...splice into it.As far as which i like best......I like the lit ones the best...the ford type doesn't need a relay to work.....the honda button<noway!

any 15 amp or higher rated 12vdc relay will work.All auto stores carry them...if you have a old gm fuel pump relay laying around...perfect.

The Honda one is the nicest looking in my opinion. It only sticks out about 1/8 of an inch when installed and it illuminates nicely with the red T/A lighting. As far as the relay, it is needed for the Honda switch but the directions are very straight forward on how to install it. As stated earlier, do not cut your yellow wire, this is what allows you to use your key still too. Just splice into it. Those other switches are pretty damn expensive compared to the Honda one but it's a matter of opinion. My .02 cents...

Is the relay still needed if the yellow wire isn't cut and both red and yellow are just spliced into, it seems to me like it would just draw the power off the red wire when the key is on. Then complete the circuit to the starter when the button is pushed via the yellow wire. Please explain
