anyone have an extra fuel pump laying around?

I need the sender off of a fuel pump if anyone has an old stock one laying around. I think ( not positive) that mine took a dump.

Fuel pump/or sender replacement is a PITA. What are your symptoms? Buddy has his go bad and the gauge would never come down.

I've already got the tank out on the ground. I put in a racetronix kit last month when I installed my new rear and the gauge didn't work when I got everything back together so I had to pull the tank a second time. You're right. It's a PIA but I prefer that over the access panel. Not a fan of cutting on a car.
When I put the new pump in the gauge goes to empty when I start the car but goes up to almost a quarter tank when I turn the key off which is puzzling to say the least. I thought maybe I reversed the purple wires when I swapped them over to the new plug during the pump install but after switching them back around I still get the same symptoms. I checked the wires with an ohm meter and am getting 40-259 ohms lock to lock on the sender. I keep reading that it should be 0-90 ohms but someone else said theirs ohmed out to the same readings I get and theirs works. The resistor is working because the ohms change as the float moves but I can't figure out what else it could be. At this point I'm ready to just start throwing parts at it. I tried cleaning the resistor contacts with parts cleaner but still didn't help. I made sure everything was grounded good but still no help. I'm just at a loss for what it could be now. The gauge sweeps when I turn the key and does move up to a quarter when I turn the key off so I've ruled out the gauge also.
