anyone had their cat(s) replaced under warranty

the 120,000 mile 10 year emmisions warranty . did you bring it to the dealer or can a private shop do it? as my dealer is gone. not to say that there isn't any dealers around. did you have to pay for any diagnostic work? and finally what was your out of pocket cost?

It has to be a GM dealer and it should cost you nothing, even the diagnostic should be free.

Friend of mine had his drivers side replaced (P0420). Dealer told him over the phone there was a diagnostic fee, might be the 02, etc. Once they condemned the cat there was no charge.

yep good point. If they run the diagnostic tests and its not the cat that is bad, you'll have to pay for the diagnosis. If they determine the cat is bad, then GM pays for the diag and the cat.

Like he said. I checked mine with a code reader first to verify I wouldn't get charged. Nothing out of pocket. Hell, they'll give you a ride home.
