Alternator questions......
I did a search but didnt really find answers. The plug on top of the alternator, with the one fragile little wire on the top, does it just go to the volt meter or is it nessasary for the car to run? Can it be repaired? I see the top of the plug comes off so I am guessing it can be, or does a new one have to be installed and how do you get the damn thing off while the alternator is in place so this doesnt happen again! lol thanks ahead of time for any answers or advice.

Wire should goto the pcm, the schem, says gen turn on signal, should be a weather pack connector, you can remove it and repair it if its broke.
Just disconnect the battery first.
