    alrm system?

    Hi,

    My TA has started making 5 chimes when I put the key in ign, and the alarm led no longer comes on at all?

    Whats happened? - as far as I know I haven't changed anything and everything (door locks, remote locking etc.) all still works... seems like the alarm is disabled or something? I did change the remote setup to stop the horn beep when you lock the car with remote but surely thats irrelevant?

    Does the number of bings mean something specific (other than "the bloody alarms broken")?

    Have you checked to see if the alarm still works? Lock the car normally and then use the key to unlock the door. If the alarm goes off there should be nothing to worry about. The owners manual has the info on changing the features.

    Err actually no I hadn't, I assumed (idiot) that since the LED had stopped flashing and I get chimes, something was screwed. But I just tried it, answer is - nothing... no alarm...

    It might be stuck in valet mode or something. Do you have an owners manual? It lists how to change the features.

    Ok, fixed it, the garage had disabled the alarm but they didn't bother to tell me(!), enabled it again and all's well...
