Alarm gone cRaZy!!!
Okay so i think its my alarm that is just going crazy!! I lock my car and after i lock it, it keeps flashing (by "flashing" i mean like hazards and dash lights keep turning on and off over and over again) so then i try to lock it again and it keeps doing it, i unlock it and it keeps doing it. I gotta lock it and unlock it a few times so it'll stop. But It wont stop doing it otherwise, not even if i turn the car on and drive it. If i turn my lights on they will stop flashing but i can still hear "click click click click click" and the little red alarm light keeps flashing over and over again. Idk wtf is wrong with it! Any ideas? I did open up the remote and it said to hold the lock and unlock buttons for 7 seconds so it could reset but im not exactly what that'll reset and im afraid it'll stop my remote from working. HELP!!

sounds like your battery is taking a shit on you... try cleaning the terminals on the battery.. they might have some corrosion on them... it won't hurt your remote to reset it...

Also try disconnecting the shock sensor in the rear. It is up near the antenna.

Oh...I meant to mention...if you have a Delco battery, check the terminals. I know the negative side terminals tend to fall out of the plastic casing and leak.

My battery is about 6 months old at the most but it did spend about 4 months just sitting there at the body shop and god only knows if they had it on the floor but i will check and clean the terminals tomorrow. Other than that it hasnt given me any trouble, i always play the radio while washing my car and she always starts right up so im guessing batt is good but i will check.
Thanks guys!!

Ok. Now it's sounds VATS/BCM related.

I feel so stupid, well kinda..... So this is my story.
So when i got my car it had 2 alarms, the factory and a aftermarket. Problem was that the aftermarket alarm wouldn't unlock the car and just lock it so i would use both remotes. Sooooooo then i crashed it and the horn for the aftermarket alarm was broken so then i assumed that the body shop deactivated the aftermarket alarm for it. By now you should've figured this out too. So today as i was driving to pick up my gf i was thinking about it and i added it all up. So then i thought about it and noticed that it was the little red light by the headlights flashing and not the factory one by the front window defroster also the car would honk if it was the factory alarm, and would stop flashing once i turned it on right? and i came to the conclusion that it was the aftermarket alarm doing all the chaos and it just wouldn't make any noise cause the little horn for it was busted! So then i was half ways to my gf's house and i busted a U! Headed back home and got the aftermarket remote for the alarm, ran back to my car and pressed the unlock button and the sonofabitch stopped doing it!! FIXED!! Idk why it decided to start acting up all of a sudden but there should be a fuse to this system somewhere right? And if i take off the fuse it wont act up anymore right?

The brain for the aftermarket alarm is probably up near the base of the steering column. There should be an inline fuse.

I will NEVER understand WHY folks install an alarm system on a vehicle with an already installed anti-theft system. Maybe fans of redundancy?
