    Air Filters?

I don't mean to rub any one the wrong way on this one. I recently came across a drop in air filter and wanted to know if any one has bought this brand and loved it.

I'll take the heat if any one reads this the wrong way, so be warned, don't take this the wrong way.

I've read in other posts LS1 Speed / SpeenInc is a good place to buy stuff. I had an email exchange and had a number of questions answered and feel good about their customer service. To me the price is so low it is probably worth the money just to buy one and try it.

Now comes the question, any one out there running with the SpeedInc High Flow F-Body Air Filterr? I'm always looking for the best deals on good products. Maybe not too many people know of this filter.

    Thanks

    Kool-Aide

They say the K@N filter is good for a few HP. The theory is sound, so I believe it. Then again no one in their right mind would do a dyno pull to verify less than 5 HP. Except of course a marketing guy who would swear up and down it was good for 15-20 HP
The best part about these filters is that you can clean and reuse them. I run an SLP Cold Air Intake on my Z28. That snorkel picks up so much road grime I have to clean my filter every two months. Get a K@N filter service kit and follow the instructions carefully.

mrr23 i didn't even notice that. i was also wondering if it could be a MAC filter, but that part number is 32-2118.

not to be a stick in the mud, but i think you guys missed the point of the post. I was only interested in who spent the 20 bucks on the SpeedInc filter. I know you guys are always there for advice on the best parts, but this was more of a call to see who bought it and liked it.

For that matter has any one bought a MAC filter or a SpeedInc filter and felt it was worth the money? Sometimes I am in the mood to piss in the wind and try something new. It may sound obvious and stupid, but what the heck.

For 50 bucks K&N, Holley, Donaldson and AMSOIL better be freakin good filters

So far Summit is the only place I have seen that has "their own" filter and states who makes it, K&N, but that puts them in the 50 buck range too.

Protect your engine man. The $30 delta in cost becomes a significantly small savings when your rings and cylinder wall succumb to fine particles of dirt etching into the cylinder walls. Cost is sometimes a factor. But not $30 bucks on something as critical as air filtration you damn stick in the mud! LOL

One more thing to do as my engine goes back in the chassis. (I think I said that last week).
When someone proves you wrong...admit it and fix it.
Some people want to hang on to hype with a death grip.

Use a paper filter. No performance gains to made by fancy air filters.

There's a dyno here somewhere where a K&N and Fram were swapped. The Fram made 2 more HP than the K&N on the dyno. The conclusion was that the K&N flows more air, but the vehicle did not use any more air than the paper filter delivered and the paper filter delivered straighter airflow. The person that posted it was above 400rwhp. Maybe they'll chime in here...

You could dyno a car back to back with out changing anything and get 2hp difference.
