    Aftermarket muffler

It appears that my 1999 Firebird Trans Am has an aftermarket Cherrybomb Vortek muffler of some kind installed. The previous owner installed it. Is this muffler any better than what came on the car stock? The rest of the exhaust system appears to be original with the muffler welded into it.

I want to say I put one of those on my first 2000 T/A and thought it sounded pretty good, much better than the stock muffler. I would say keep it unless you are going to add headers, then go Corsa, GMMG, Borla or whatever sounds best to you. My second 2000 Trans Am has a Borla on it with everything else stock and it sounds nice. Good luck.

I would like to install the exhaust system that came stock on the Firehawks. Is that the same thing as the SLP dual duals? I think that would be a big improvement over a cherrybomb muffler.
