    Question AC Not Working

Blower fan runs, compressor isn't engaging though.
No blown fuses, but I'm not sure how to check the relay.
Guess I should let it cool down & check for power at the plug going into the compressor.
Is there anything in the dash that needs looked at?

maybe the freon is low? low pressure switch is bad? compressor clutch bad?

    The clutch doesn't engage.
It spins freely when I spin it with my finger.
Unplugged the wires at the compressor & fired the engine, turned the AC on inside & was reading 2 volts on my meter.
Does that sound like a low pressure switch problem?
Freon?? Would being low not make the compressor clutch kick in??
    Thanks for the reply.

the low pressure switch senses when the freon is low and shuts the system down. the evap coil could freeze and potentially slug liquid freon back to the compressor and damage the valves or pistons or such. its a safety device. you can try to jump it and see if the compressor starts (not my advice) which could at least isolate your problem
