    ac/heat blower motor making noise

Haven't driven car in 3 months took it to work today and the blower motor makes a sqeaky/whiney noise and gets faster as you turn the fan up. Is there a cabin air filter that needs to be changed or something? Has anyone else had this problem? Any info would be appreciated it's really agervating.
    Thanks, John

I've just had probs with leaves n crap getting in there and causeing a flapping noise. It's really easy to pull the fan...it's under the glove box in the corner. Only like 3 bolts holding it in...since it's sqeaking you could lube it or just replace it.

I found a mud dabber (wasp) nest deep up inside a steering column in this old Jeep I was putting a turn signal switch in today-looked impossible for anything to get in there! Of course this same Jeep came complete w/a birds nest w/eggs under a rocker panel. In other cars I have found dead mice in hubcaps and mice nests complete w/dead babies in air cleaners. So leaves in the blower motors are a real possibility.

    wow...

You wouldn't happen to know how the leaves get in there would ya? Only thing I can see is that they slip behind the cowl and infront of the windshield

Yeah-I've had spiders crawl out of the underside of cars that I just drove 60 mph and drove straight on the rack. How they hung on kinda blows your mind! The leaves were probably sitting on the cowl and when you start driving the air is pressurized in front of the windshield(so they say)and they get forced into the air inlet. I had this same Jeep up the air a little later yesterday and I noticed that the back right corner of the frame had an acorn sticking out of a hole in the (fully boxed) frame. For the hell of it I pulled it out and noticed that the whole corner of the frame was stuffed full of them. There was a full handful of them in there-squirrel maybe?-I don't know but I'm beginning to wonder what else is in there!! Brings a whole new meaning to "Trail Rated".

If you have power at the fan motor then it'll be the motor.A simple test light or volt meter will tell you that.No-power you need to trace back in the circuit to find where you lost power.

Sounds like the motor if you hear it clicking. Put a meter on the connector and turn the switch on/off to be sure. You can also try putting voltage directly to the motor terminals and see what happens, be careful though - leave it installed if you can.
