    Abs Inop / Tcs Off

Well yesterday I was driving to work and I felt a vibration from the rear. I pulled over and everything looked ok. Last night when driving home the ABS INOP and TCS OFF indicators were lit. Upon inspection, the wheel well is soaked with brake fluid so it looks like I'll be doing a brake caliper this weekend.

Two questions, why the vibration?....the balance weights were still on the wheel. Also is it worth taking the time to rebuild the calipers or for 60.00 am I better off just replacing it?

    Thanks.

just get a rebuilt one. also, if the pads got fluid on them replace them. you should also check the parking brake pads too. it might be just a flex line. if it is replace the other side as well. might as well check the one going to the rear from hard line.

OK guys....I missed diagnosed this. I replaced the caliper and cleaned the speed sensor and as soon as I put it on the highway the vibration started up. My caliper is soaked but the master cylinder is full. The rear feels unstable so I'm guessing that I have a bearing and seal problem?

Jack up the corner that caliper is on, remove the whell then rotate the hub while looking closely at the area where the brake pad touches the rotor. If the rotor's warped it should be obvious.

If you've still got a leak and you've replaced the caliper next in line is, well, the brake line leading to it.

Well it's pretty obvious that I've got a bad bearing. I'll swap it this weekend most likely along with the axle. FYI - GM parts direct has them for 139.00 plus shipping.
