    abs inop light

    !! PLEASE HELP !!

I have a few problems now..

-The " abs inop" light has turned on

-The turning signals wont work..they just stay on as if I were pressing the brakes when I try to turn a signal on.

-The "tcs off" light stays on..I push the button and it does nothing

Do I have an electrical problem or is there something really wrong with my car???

dont know anything too technically specific...but since no one else has got to ya yet i'll get the ball rolling... tcs is remaining off most likely because it shares many components with abs. something is malfunctioning with your abs; triggering the abs inop light, that is also rendering your traction control inoperable. maybe a sensor?? I'm sure someone will be able to give you more leads on what exactly is likely malfunctioning. but, should be 1 problem; easily diagnosed, and not an electrical one... good luck!

    sounds like 2 different issues:
Check your flasher first and make sure it's good ( located by your knee under the kick panel) and then check your turn signal bulbs and sockets. Do you have any water getting into a housing? Pretty common and will lead to a rusty socket and signal/light issues.

The second sounds like either a dirty/bad wheel sensor or a bad abs module unless you've put different sized tires on front and back. You have a 98 which may or may not be a 3 channel abs set up. My 98 was a 3 channel but I've seen where some people say that not all 98's are 3 channel set ups. If it's a 3 channel you won't have rear abs sensors at the wheels.....there will be 1 sensor in the top of your rear end pumpkin. The front sensors are in the hubs.

sorry guys ive been workin overtime..

Ok, I will give that a try and see what is up..but I think I should just take it to someone that knows about the sensors because that isnt my strong point.

    Thanks for your input
