99 TA with head light on all the time

I have a 99 TA and every time I start it up the head light go up. Is there a way to keep them closed until I want them open. Is it normal that they open every time?

There's got to be a programming sequence or something to change this I kind of like the car withe the lights down as well as up

thats not normal man...my dad had a 99 and he never had that problem. I have an 02 and have also never seen that happen. Make sure that none of your wires are touching. If they are it can act as a remote wire - so everytime you start the car it will trigger the lights...even tho it shouldn't be the problem, check all fuses...who knows??...i've seen some pretty weird things happen...if both of those check out fine...take it to a pontiac dealer or closest mechanic..have them run a diagnostic and they should be able to tell you where your problem is..hope this helps...

Hum I wonder if the Canadian car is using them as daytime running lights.

I've never ran into this before. If they pop up can you put them down with the switch by turning it on and then off and do the other functions of the switch work normally such as running lights? Sounds like an issue with the switch IMO but like I said, I've never ran into this problem. Could also be a dead short I guess like Brad said....just have to trouble shoot it and find the problem.

I just put in a switch used and it's back to normal. I think that it was staying on.
