98 Trans Am Tuner and Fan issue

Diablo Sport and Superchips only make a tuner for 99 LS1 and forward. Does anyone make a tuner for 98. I read the computer is not compatible...Can i just change the computer for one from 99-02? or is it more complicated than that?

My check engine light is on saying either fan 1, wiring or its relay is damaged. Does anyone know when these fans should turn on? 1 then2 or both at the same time?

i think they come on both at the same time, i have never actually looked to see if both turn at the same time, if you only got one running then thats probably your problem

Yeah today i noticed i had only one running..my car is not overheating but i dont want to test my luck. I just got the car this week

wow what are the odds.. stang slayer you are in miami and we both have 98s...what have you dont to your ride...tuner?

i have yet to get the car tuned, im still deciding whether to go head/cam nitrous or turbo, i should find out monday whether a custom turbo is on my budget.i have lt headers asp crank pulley, texas speed airlid, slp mass air,smoothbellow, ported tb.

From what I remember one fan runs continueously and the other comes on as the engine reaches higher temperatures or when the A/C is running.
I have a `98 and I run the SLP fan switch. it allows you to run both fans at low speed or both at high speed or leave it off so the computer controls them.
