98 coils on 99 LS1

Hi, changing motor in 98 ss to a 99 LS1. What do I need to do to make the 98 coils work on the 99 motor as one has perimeter bolt valve covers and the other has centerbolts. Do I need an adapter plate or something? Thanks.

I did the same thing. I went from my 98 to a Ls-6. Call Ls1speed they had a remounting kit so you could mount the 98 coils on the 99 value covers.

Yepp adapter or newer valve covers.

You will need valve covers from a 99-02 car. You will also need the coil pack mounting bracket. You should be able to pick up these parts at a junk yard or ebay. The 98 valve covers arent going to work on your 99-02 heads. Once you have that bracket you just mount the coils to that bracket and then install the bracket with all 4 coils onto the valve cover. Makes things much easier and neater.
