Alright guys i am ready to start making some serious power. I have a 2001 WS6 and i am aiming for 700 flywheel hp. Just wondering what route that i should take in pulling this off i know it wont cheap but i am curious what this would cost? I am aware there are other things that need to be done to like tranny work, rear end, suspension and so on. I was leaning in the direction of maybe a built ls7 but i am not sure thats why i am posting to ask you guys. But i will prolly be giving Horsepower Enginering a call here in a month or 2 after i make sure i want to spend some of my moldy money? anyways thanks for any and all input

Ok maybe not to streetable but if you were going to go 700 hp NA what route would you take? i have been saving up money for about 2 years and have almost 50k in the bank but im not saying i am getting this for sure i am just dreaming i might end up going with a less hp but i figure if i am going to do this i might as well go for the full Monte. Your need to start out with a NEW LSX cast iron block. You can make around 454 ci and I'd buy the L98 heads from a dealer. Your looking at $2500-2900 for the block and heads.
Then you need to decide whos rotating assembly your going to buy. There is SOOOO many choices now. Since you want to stay all motor I would make the compression around 12.5-13. It's going to need a pretty radiacal cam to produce 2 hp per cubic inch which will bleed off alot of that compression.
Your going to need to invest in some BIG tube headers also to make that kind of power.
The L98 head is a squareport on the intake.I would invest in a Hogan sheetmetal intake made for your combination. Your looking at $1100-1500. The out of the box head out flows AFR's with NO work. So with porting the #'s are endless.
It's possiable there are just WAY too many choices to give you #'s. But I wouldn't waste my time starting with a LS7. Not if your going to stay ALL motor.

Why the 700 HP N/A number? You could build a 500rwhp 402/408, install a 150HP wet nitrous kit and make much better numbers. Other benefits would be about 1/4 the price, much better street manners and many proven combos to choose from.

We figured mine made 630'ish' at the flywheel. Filled it up today. Just over 15MPG.

Shifting at 2000 doesn't hurt either. That is more than enough to keep with traffic.

Although that 15MPG was with a little highway driving. It has gotten 19 on the highway for me.
