I have a 2000 6.0 that I am thinking about doing the same thing with, running a carb setup.I have done alot of checking and I have found that there is not much difference in the horse power. In some cases the carb out performed the injected engine.I have a magazine that I bought that compared the two and they found really little difference.The carb setup allowes you to do away with all the sensors and other stuff that will make a roadside repair almost impossible. Some like the setup and some don't,as for me give me simple anytime.

The LQ4 is a low compression engine. 7cc dished piston, LQ9 is a high compression flat top piston engine.
LQ4= 9.4 CR
LQ9= 10.x
