    5w-20?

so i got my oil changed today at a new place and the guy insisted that i go with 5w-20 (i use a synthetic blend, i feel its a good compromise since i don't have the $$$ for the all out synthetic!) before i'd always used either 5 or 10 w-30...is this guy crazy?

Crazy is a good description. 20 weight is too thin for these motors.

Too thin and not recommended by GM. 5-30 or 10-30. Have it changed ASAP.

5W-20 is used mostly in Ford and Honda products, the Honda for the close tolerances in the engine, Ford for meeting the MPG average mandated by the Federal Government, the thinner oil has less friction, so better gas milage.

5W-20 should not be used in the LS1 motor.
