    Question 5.3 Vortec to a 5.7 LS1?

I have 2006 silverado 1500 with a 5.3L vortec. Can I do a swap for a LS1 out of Camaro? Will it be a easy drop in, or will the motor mount bolt holes not match? Any help would be appreciated Thanks Phil

Hey Phil...welcome....I guess I'll go first...why? You can get as damn near as much out of your 5.3L as you can the LS1...
I have a heads/cam/headers/CAI/3000rpm stall/Nelson Tune 5.3 2007 Silverado that will flat ass run. New Camaro V8 and Mustang GT do not pull away from my ass.....

I have to agree with the old man here.....unless you're just wanting ungodly amounts of power ( in which case a 402 or 408 would serve you better) why not just build the 5.3? Throw some boost on there and really shock some people. For the money/time you'd have in doing a swap you can go faster with a boosted 5.3 IMO

Unless you go 6.0 or bigger there is no point.

    Question

Thanks for the info. Are the aftermarket heads like AFR or Trick Flow better, or can just have 5.3L heads port & polished? I already have 3:73 locking diff, k&n cold air kit, Eldabrock headers, Flow Master exhaust & Superchip flashpaq

    Question

Will the 80mm throttle body kit work on my 5.3L or just port mine?

afr and trickflow heads are always gonna be better than stock. If you went the stock route though I'd upsize those valves to 2.02 intake and 1.575 exhaust valves. Do you plan on a different intake down the road or are you staying with the stock one? I would just port the tb if you were going to stay with the stock intake but to be honest with you I'm not real sure how the trucks respond to TB and intake mods. I would assume there's HP to be found there just like on everything....it comes down to HP gained per dollar spent though to me.
