3k to spend on t/a
Ok guy's first of all excuse my spelling lol but enough of that. I got 3k to safely spend on my 01 T/A A-4 this year, the purpose of this car is just to be a fast street car with little track time because the closes track is like 2 hours away in Dallas. Maybe once every summer ill tack it down there with some buddy's. The car is a 01 t/a A-4 with a lid, bellows, hooker shorty's, slp loud mouth II, msd with ngk, corvette z06 17 front 18 back Founder tower brace That about it
for performance- I was thinking about BBK long tube's with ORY into my loud mouth II, 80mm throttle body, Frost tune,
suspension- Founder's rear control arms, adjustable Panhanbard, sub-frame connectors, motor mounts, trany mounts, cross/drill rotors, ceramic pads, strano lowering springs, bilstein shocks,
trany/axle- t/a girdle for the 10 bolt, trany cooler, b&M deep trany pan, b&m shift kit
look's- Trufiber ws6 hood, 17x9, 17x10.5 gunmetal torque thrust with 315 nitto tires out back
Now is this a good list. Fell free to add stuff or take away. Also is it hard to do do a trany cooler and shift kit? is there a sticky on either? all labor will be done my me,uncle, and friends.

Forget anything with the 10 bolt, total waste of money!!!
Seriously - 12 bolt with 4.10 gears or a 9" with 4.11 gears. It will take up all of the 3k but it's one of the most expensive improvements that is needed. It will give you a very strong foundation that everything else will build on.
Otherwise -
1st SFC's, Full Length TA with relocate kit (UMI), Adjustable LCA's & PHB. That will be about $1400
2nd Stall Convert
3rd Hood and paint

Agree with Scott. I always recommend replacing the rear diff. before adding more power. If you choose not to, I'd also add a tune to what Scott recommended. Frost offers a very reasonably priced mail order tune, and you won't be disappointed with it.

on the 10 bolt i dont really beat on it, will not see allot of track time, but i may leave the ta girlle out- to much money just for a cover, latter on wen i cam it i will get a 12 bolt rite now is just bolt ons
also im going with Founder's Performance for my suspension there pretty good and pretty cheep price. For my rear control arms, PHB, and sub-frame connectors it will be around 300
im getting a frost tune with my headers and ORY. Also i wanted to do motor mounts, how hard is it and do i have to jack up the engine some how?
oh and next year it will be cam, heads, intake, stall, 12bolt, and dyno tune wen is not my DD any more, rite now i just want the basicLast edited by reaper ws6; 01-05-2012 at 01:34 PM.

the rear end can go under stock power. You may be lucky because you have an A4 nd they seem to go easier on the rear's then the M6's. Doing the suspension is a must if you want power to pavement. Otherwise all that power means spit unless it can get planted to the wheels.
Count me also on Frost tunes = very satisfied...

Tranny cooler, stall, long tubes, tune, sub frame connectors, struts and brakes. Stall will make it seem like a different animal. And long tubes will give you some extra ponies.

I had somebody install my motor mounts. He said it was a pain in the ass and he would never do them again if anybody asked. I take that as a "pretty hard" statement lol

I mean if you can find a mechanic that knows what hes doing for a good price to do the mounts then id do it for sure. Just dont change the tranny mount without replacing the motor mounts at the same time.
