    20w50 oil. High mile Ls1

Im going to be looking around for some different oils, got some hardcore overtime in and my old job back so Im gonna drive and find some 20w50. Summer is here and my ls1 has low hot idle oil pressure.. about 25-30psi at 600 ish rpm.

Im awaiting what Sarge will have to say but does anybody else on here run it in hot climates?

I have an 8 quart sum w/dual large oil filters and a oil cooler. I run 6 quarts Shaeffers 10-30 and 2 quarts Shaeffers 20-50 to get a little thicker 30 weight. Results are excellent. 20-50 alone is way too thick. Mix a 20%-80% 10-30 w/20-50....stick with the same brand when mixing so you do not have add pack clash. So if you have a 6 quart sump mix 4.5 quarts 10-30 with 1.5 quarts 20-50.

Gotcha. I dumped the old oil that I did the "home grown" mixing with a while back and put in 10w30PP and its not cutting it with the larger bearing clearances of my bird

Time to get out the measuring funnel

Sarge so i could dump one 20-50 pennzoil in with my 5-30 pennzoil? I'd like it just a tad thicker ...i know there was a old tr=hread floating around with some kind of mix using M1 to help stop oil useage. Crazy thing is the older my LS1 gets the better it is on oil.
